Overview What do we mean when we talk about a "powerful dynamic backend?" This is the behind-the-scenes stuff that visitors to your site are not aware of, but which makes your site powerful and keeps it up-to-date. As an example, consider the "Staff" section on our site here: New people get hired. People get promoted. People leave. What do you do to make sure that a section like this on a site is always up-to-date and accurate? You can either muck around with, or hire someone to muck around with, writing new pages, coding the HTML, uploading the new stuff to your server... OR, you can have a dynamic backend system that allows you to add and update these pages whenever you want, from any web browser in the world, using just a few simple forms. No programming or HTML required. If you can use a web browser you can update your site. (Naturally access to the system is password protected and fully secure, so only those authorized can change the site!) To see how this works and give you a taste of all that is possible, we have given you access to our site's backend Personnel Editor. Now you can change our site, live and on the fly! Don't worry, the changes you make will only be seen by you on your computer's browser. You can't actually wreck our site. Any changes you make will last about 2 days. During this time period you can come in and see your changes (provided you do so from the same browser and machine you made the changes with); once a day at 1 a.m. EST everything older than 24 hours will be reset and anything you added will be permanently deleted.
